RESPONSIBILITIES : Coordinate services with an array of agencies, training providers, One-Stop Center staff, and employers. Provide on-going support and career counseling throughout the participant’s enrollment in the program and document all contact in case notes as well as all progress in the Individual Service Strategy (ISS). In addition, Case Managers will assist the participants in overcoming barriers and achieving goals. Properly process paperwork, invoices, and documentation for job training and workforce development program activities.

DUTIES :

  • Maintains client files.
  • Determines eligibility for all interested adults, dislocated workers and / or youth.
  • Provides all clients job search assistance and plan for transition to unsubsidized employment.
  • Provides individualized case management, standardized assessment as well as guidance and counseling for clients. Complete follow-up reports.
  • Develops with the client a service strategy which includes goals of the client.
  • Ensures that each client obtains the training and education appropriate for success.
  • Develops strong business contacts within communities served.
  • Contacts employers and develop plans to employ and train clients.
  • Accurately determines cost for training, work experience, and / or supportive services.
  • Submits all necessary forms, bills, invoices, and other paperwork.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in workforce development, career counseling, youth services, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, including the ability to maintain accurate case notes and files.
  • Knowledge of career development principles, training resources, and workforce trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young adults.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and “Contact with Students” compliance
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Multilingual (Spanish, Farsi, Dari, Pashto)
  • Experience working with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs.
  • Familiarity with local business, education, and community resources.
  • Experience developing internship and work-based learning opportunities for students.
  • Knowledge of best practices in career counseling and case management.
  • Physical Demands :

  • Mobility : Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (up to 8 hours)within office and community environments to access file cabinets, and office machinery and interact with clients and staff.
  • Lifting Requirements : Occasionally moves materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Posture & Movements : Frequent sitting, standing and walking for extended periods is expected. Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach as necessary.
  • Manual Dexterity : Regularly operates standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, and telephone. Requires hand-eye coordination for data entry and document preparation.
  • Travel : Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel locally to community sites, educational institutions, and employer locations. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Vision Requirements : Must be able to read printed materials and information on computer screens. Requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Communication : Must be able to communicate effectively, including verbal exchanges with clients, employers, and team members. Requires the ability to convey information clearly in person, over the phone, and through electronic communication. Must be able to interpret and respond to non-verbal cues.
  • Working Conditions

  • The position is primarily performed in an office environment, but work will also take place at community locations such as educational institutions and employer sites.
  • Frequent travel between locations is required, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Noise levels in work environments are typically low to moderate.
  • Flexible scheduling may be required, including occasional evenings and weekends, to accommodate participant or employer needs.
  • This role may require interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including youth facing various personal, educational, and employment barriers.
