We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our dynamic team. As a Sommelier, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our guests' dining experience through expert wine recommendations and menu planning. Your expertise will contribute to the overall success of our restaurant and cater to our clientele's diverse tastes.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional wine service to guests, including recommendations based on their preferences and menu selections.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative wine pairings that enhance the dining experience.
- Manage the wine inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling of all wines.
- Conduct tastings and training sessions for staff to improve their knowledge of wines and upselling techniques.
- Assist in menu planning by selecting appropriate wines that complement seasonal dishes.
- Maintain an organized and updated wine list, showcasing new arrivals and seasonal selections.
- Handle catering requests involving wine selections for events, ensuring a seamless experience for clients.
- Utilize Aloha POS systems for order processing and inventory management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of wines, including varietals, regions, and food pairings.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests in conversation about wine selections.
- Experience with collaboration sales techniques and upselling strategies.
- Familiarity with food handling practices to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Proficiency in Aloha POS or similar point-of-sale systems is preferred.
- Bartending experience is a plus but not required.
- A passion for providing outstanding customer service and creating memorable dining experiences.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
