RARE Specialty Pharmacy is looking for a highly clinical, highly organized Staff Specialty Pharmacist to participate in the intricacies of the pharmacy process while providing stellar patient care and follow-up.
You will be responsible for the following:
• Day-to-day operations included in the filling of Specialty Medication prescriptions
• Providing exceptional care and service to our patients and clients
ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review specialty medication prior authorization requests according to established treatment protocols, clinical criteria and member benefits, make coverage determinations within the defined turnaround times and meet regulatory requirements.
• Determine clinical criteria for specialty medications analysis and monitoring of industry trends, development of criteria recommendations for RARE Specialty Pharmacy and patients.
• Execute the drug utilization review and medication therapy management programs (MTM) for specialty medications at the assigned plan to meet regulatory requirements and develop systematic reviews of prescription claims to meet strategic initiatives.
• Establish patient care plans and perform initial assessments and recurring reassessments for Specialty Medication patients to ensure adherence and the best possible care in accordance with Pharmacy Standards.
• Assist PiC in oversight of Specialty Patients and team of highly trained, Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technicians.
• Maintain quality control in accordance with RARE standard operating procedures (SOPs - URAC & ACHC.
• Research drug information to maintain drug knowledge and disease state understanding for application.
• Manage & properly control inventory to ensure inventory is stored properly, accurately reflected within inventory management module, processed out of the system accordingly for recalls, expired lots.
• Must have a high regard for service, be very personable and compassionate.
• Demonstrate a high aptitude for learning about the specialty pharmacy healthcare environment and business and be aggressive in pursuit of the business.
• Keep current with clinical data and be prepared to discuss with health care professionals.
• Maintain a high level of communication with all RARE Specialty Pharmacy team members.
• Comply with all RARE Specialty Pharmacy and government policies and regulations.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards.

• Highly motivated team player with a positive attitude and the ability to self-direct and prioritize.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy is a minimum; Doctor of Pharmacy designation is a plus.
• A minimum of two years full-time Pharmacy experience with leadership/management experience for a portion of that time.
• Pharmaceutical, biotech, or specialty pharmacy industry experience a plus. CSP is a plus.
