Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, strong communication skills, and a desire to assist in providing exceptional care to our patients. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of the animals under our care.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms for appointments.
• Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood draws and urinalysis.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and equipment.
• Provide compassionate care and support to both animals and their owners.
• Assist with client education on topics such as nutrition, grooming, and basic healthcare.
  
  

Keep cages clean and sanitizedWalk, feed, and pick up after the animalsVarious housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage etc.)Fill prescribed medications

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
