Job Description : Raritan Valley Community College is currently seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach film studies courses, specifically in film technique and the survey and history of American film. These courses aim to deepen students' understanding of how American movies both shape and reflect American culture while fostering an appreciation for movies as a contemporary art form. Students will explore mainstream American cinema within a cultural and historical context, focusing on the characteristics of Hollywood storytelling and visual style in film genres such as romantic comedies, Westerns, and film noir. They will engage in close observation and analysis of essential film language, including mise en scène, camera and editing techniques, lighting, and the cinematic use of sound. Candidates should be available to teach daytime and / or evening classes. Requirements : Master's Degree in Communication, Film, or Media Studies. Prior teaching experience required; college level preferred. Positions are located on the Main RVCC Campus unless otherwise noted.
