What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underwriter II position at RAS Companies?
RAS has an opening for an Underwriter II. As an Underwriter II, you will be responsible for the evaluation of submitted business for risk acceptability, matching price to exposure, loss frequency, and severity for overall profitability. In addition, the Underwriter II is responsible for the generation and maintenance of a book of business that drives the company’s profitable growth objectives.
Job qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of previous underwriting experience required; experience underwriting workers’ compensation preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
- Decision making and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great customer service skills and ability to work with a high performing team
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Travel up to 20%
The successful candidate must reside in SD, MN, IA, NE, KS, MO, WI, or OH.
