What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underwriting Leader position at RAS Companies?
RAS has an opening for an Underwriting Leader. As an Underwriting Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day underwriting operations to include leadership, training, and development of the Underwriting team. This role will implement underwriting standards and determine authority levels as well as holistically manage aspects of risk selection, referral and portfolio performance. In addition, the Underwriting Leader will collaborate with senior leadership in the development of long-term underwriting strategies to deliver consistent profitable growth.
Job qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of workers’ compensation insurance underwriting or related experience required.
- Previous people management experience required
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
- Decision making and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to travel 25% with overnight stays is required
The successful candidate should reside in SD, MN, IA, NE, KS, MO, WI, OH, NV, FL, or IL.
