Instructional Designer II
Job description
- This position will work with various team members to create online learning courses on client’s Product and HVAC industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Work together with internal content stakeholders to identify and define training requirements.
- Working in the studio (Richardson, Texas) filming course work.
- Develop and design digital online and/or instructor-led training that creatively achieves the learning outcomes.
- Work independently while regularly collaborating with Instructional design team, SME lead and project owners.
- Learn complex technologies and tools for development of technical training.
- Keep up with product development - ensure courses being developed are in-line with product direction, company goals, and training team strategy.
- Maintain training content updates through rapid product upgrade cycles.
- Setup and Attend Transfer-of-Information Sessions and product trainings to stay current on products and features.
- Build and maintain relationships with content and product experts during the development, design, review and updating phases of instructional design.
- Infuse courses with role-based, learning levels, and inquiry elements.
- Follow team instructional design standards, processes, and procedures.
Skillset:
- Competency with the latest digital authoring and creative tools; Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Audition, Photoshop, and Premiere), and advanced PowerPoint skills. Print design is a plus.
- Experience and passion for designing, building, and maintaining world-class digital learning.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodology with the ability to translate highly complex and technical information into dynamic, inquiry-based online learning courses.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and agile environment.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, report regular status, and accurately scope and deliver on time.
- Ability to take large amounts of collected information and transfer into a learning script.
- Storyboard experience is a plus.
- Experience developing technical training and/or courseware for highly technical products.
- Experience developing sales training and/or scenario training for products.
- Experience designing simple animations, motion graphics and simulations.
- Experience with video pre, production and post.
- Graphic Design experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of inquiry-based and learner interactive elements.
- Ability to record own video narration is a plus.
- Attention to details.
- Taking ownership of project.
