Essential Responsibilities:
- Process all incoming payments and accurately apply them to customer accounts.
- Ensure accurate management of customer accounts, including; invoicing, credits, & adjustments.
- Monitor aged accounts and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collections.
- Work with sales, customer service, and other departments to resolve disputes and address customer payment issues.
- Assist the Customer Service department with maintaining correct customer master details.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly AR reports for management.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including month-end closing processes.
- Develop professional and productive relationships with customers to help identify and resolve root causes for payment delays.
- Assist the Credit Manager with general accounting tasks as needed.
- Research discrepancies and provide resolutions for late receivables.
- Record, report and follow up on billing discrepancies or disputes on shared work spaces.
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and project work as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree in business administration, accounting, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in AR operations with a heavy focus on customer collections.
- Major ERP system experience required, bonus for SAP knowledge.
- Must have a basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Must have a positive attitude with a desire to grow by supporting the company and team in projects that may arise through company initiatives or through acquisition.
- Ability to multi-task while working independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exist.
- Experience collecting and understanding deductions from major retailers is a plus.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office and Windows based computer applications skills.
