About the Position
Ratio is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate/Associate Scientist in our Biology Group, to join a growing team of scientists responsible for preclinical drug discovery and development efforts. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to make a significant impact and move the needle in cancer research and therapeutic drug development. They will have strong interest and expertise working in preclinical drug development and pharmacology, along with a well-rounded understanding of cancer biology and drug discovery techniques towards target identification and drug discovery & development. In this role, candidate will execute studies to advance the understanding of the preclinical biology and pharmacology of our compounds in vitro and in vivo, and be able to effectively communicate their data. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, is a quick learner and communicates clearly.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct mammalian cell culture and execute cell-based experiments for lead discovery and optimization.
· Design and execute biochemical assays for drug candidate characterization.
· Execute in vivo pharmacology studies for compound evaluation.
· Follow developed protocols and work with a team to develop new protocols and workflows.
· Analyze data, troubleshoot experimental issues, and summarize key findings.
· Communicate results effectively with internal stakeholders and align on future direction.
· Work collaboratively within and across teams in a complex, matrixed environment.
· Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational skills and leverage team work to create innovative solutions and achieve common goals.
· Continually learn and broaden your expertise in radiopharmaceutical therapies and cancer biology.
· Assist in day-to-day laboratory operations and maintenance.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or related field.
· Hands-on experience with cell culture, in vitro assay development and implementation and/or in vivo techniques is preferred.
· Experience using radioactivity in laboratory assays is a plus but not required.
· Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to communicate candidly and openly.
· Demonstrated pursuit of quality and excellence in innovation and execution of experiments.
