What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager on Duty (MOD) position at RATP DEV USA, LLC?
These duties are the essential functions and are not inclusive of all duties that the MOD performs.
- Communicates job requirements and responsibilities to bus operators, supervisors and dispatchers.
- Responsible for day-to-day scheduling, coaching/counseling employees, and the preparation of operational reports.
- Assists bus operators/supervisors in preparation and submission of accident/incident reports.
- Assists in the design and implementation of new training and safety protocols and procedures.
- Assists in training and re-training of new bus operators, supervisors and dispatchers on transit operational policies and procedures.
- Liaisons between bus operators, clients, and executive leadership in response to customer service-related issues.
- Evaluates and monitors bus operator safety and performance via computer aided device (CAD AVL) software.
- Assures compliance with federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and guidelines related to assigned operations. Recommends changes in operational policies and procedures as required to maintain that compliance.
- Assists with bus operator tracking system for bus operator performance and service evaluations.
- Assists emergency and/or law enforcement in medical or other types of emergencies.
- Maintains timely and accurate records on service interruptions, bus changes, and other reports, as assigned.
- Reinforces performance expectations to bus operators, supervisors, and dispatchers.
- Works closely with all staff members to make recommendations to improve overall transit system performance.
- Assists in dispatching, interviewing, and miscellaneous clerical tasks as needed.
- Serves as a point of contact in the absence of the Operations Manager.
- Strives to improve employee performance through structuring a positive work environment.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels through making schedules, monitoring attendance, anticipating vacancies, approving leave time, and monitoring long-term absences (e.g. FMLA).
- Oversees the selection of personnel, assigns and directs shift schedules and relief coverage, reviews and authorizes dispatcher, operator, and supervisor payroll and leave requests, evaluates work performance, takes corrective and disciplinary action.
- Oversees the preparation of a variety of operational and statistical reports related to work area of assignment.
