- Additional training from mechanical/technical schools, courses or seminars desirable
- High school diploma or GED and valid North Carolina driver’s license with CDL endorsement is required
- Experience with diagnostic computer equipment and software required
- Must have the ability to learn the design, maintenance, and adjustments of ADA equipment, air conditioning, brakes, chassis, cooling system, engine, interior/exterior lighting, gauges and controls, safety equipment, fire suppression system and sensitive edges, tires and transmissions
- Hands on experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

- Minimum of one to two years of vocational/technical schooling or equivalent work experience.?
- Experience: Available classifications (shown below) based upon collective bargaining agreements.?
- Level C: Hiring Level.?
- Level B: Must hold and maintain three ASE Truck or Transit Bus along with 608/609 Air Conditioning Certification and three years of verifiable experience in heavy-duty diesel buses or truck.?
- Level A: Must hold and maintain four ASE Truck or Transit Bus certifications, one of which must be test T6 or H6 electrical, along with 608/609 Air Conditioning Certification and four years of verifiable experience in heavy duty diesel bus or truck.?
- Master: Must hold and maintain ASE Certified Master Truck or Transit certification, 608/609 Air Conditioning Certification, and the ability to demonstrate proficiency in arc, mig and gas welding along with five years of verifiable experience in heavy duty diesel bus.?
- Computer Skills Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new programs as required.?
- Certificates & Licenses All positions require a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) class B with endorsements. See experience and qualifications for necessary licenses and certifications.?
- Other Requirements Must provide own hand tools as necessary to perform the assigned work.
