Summary
This role is responsible for managing and growing territory sales, managing and growing current sales accounts, identifying and growing new accounts, and demonstrating general knowledge in all aspects of the individual client relationship including resin needs, end uses, credit, logistics efficiency, inventory and the MHC value proposition. This role is home office based; we are looking for someone living in the Northeast or New England to manage/grow and existing book of business and expand market share through prospecting.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced environment; possessing an intimate understanding of the Polypropylene & Polyethylene commodity markets is essential. Critical Activities
Maintains assigned accounts and manages for profitable growth by leveraging relationships at all levels within the Client organization
Coordinates internal support for assigned accounts
Maintains a robust pipeline of prospective customers
Provides forecasting information for budgeting and operations planning
Supports the quoting process with complete and accurate information on customer requirements
Collaborates in pricing decisions by having current knowledge of the competitive market dynamics
Negotiates to maximize profit margins
Cultivates a positive and strategic relationship with assigned Client Experience Professional
Manages working capital, including inventory at regional locations, direct shipments from suppliers, and AR aging reports
Supports corporate and business development activities
Represents the Company at trade / industry events
Supports positive relationships with suppliers
Participates in training and personal development programs
Trains and mentors Commercial Development employees, Sales Representatives and new Account Managers as requested
Knowledge and Skills
Associate Degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred
A minimum of 3-5 years’ commodity polymer sales experience
Experience selling to Film, Sheet, Pipe, Injection, and Roto processors
Track record of success selling to high volume Polypropylene & Polyethylene Clients
High level of initiative, work ethic, and professionalism
Desire to learn and execute the sales process
Plans and organizes in an efficient and productive manor; prioritizes and multi-tasks multiple projects; pays attention to details
Ability to work remote and willingness to travel in a multi-state territory
Effective presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Ability to grow and maintain business relationships at all levels at the customer and MHC organization
Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and listening skills
Capability to create internal teamwork to focus on sales objectives
