Objective / Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Production & Accounting Department using independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize workload to ensure highest value and best services. The cost accountant must be a team player and must possess strong attention to detail and the necessary judgment to plan and prioritize efficiently. Will work out of the Blue Polymers Indianapolis, IN plant.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below:
1. Education:
a. Minimum associate’s degree or preferably a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, or related field.
b. Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in similar title and scope of responsibility - preferred
2. Ability to set priorities and maintain functional work environment.
3. Manufacturing background preferred.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a capability to learn basic systems such as Microsoft CRM.
5. Must possess excellent interpersonal, people management, and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Production reporting verification and audit with knowledge of bill of materials.
- Inventory control for incoming raw materials, work in process, finished goods.
- Inventory subsidiary ledger closing and reconciliation of relevant balance sheet accounts and prepares any relevant Journal entries as part of month end closing as directed.
- General admin functions within the plant supporting inventory control within all departments.
- Assist in the completion of special projects.
- Follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental Procedures.
- Uphold the Blue Polymers Code of Conduct standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the Site/Division Controller.
