What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist position at Ravago Americas?
Mays Chemical, a Ravago Company, is currently recruiting for a Inventory Control Specialist based out of the Indianapolis facility. The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory control related activities, and will work closely with warehouse operations staff to ensure that documented processes are followed when completing inventory transactions. This candidate will be an expert at investigating discrepancies in inventory records to determine any corrections needed, and also be able to identify areas for improvement and implement improved processes as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor, investigate and adjust all quantity, cost, and lot discrepancies
Reconcile inventory monthly at 3rd party warehouses
Enter in shipping feedback for 3rd party warehouses
Responsible for file maintenance of Chempax inventory files
Complete work orders (repack)
Complete in transit receiving (transfers)
Enter new products in Chempax, edit and update item master file for inventory management system
Monitor and conduct cycle counts
Assist with year-end inventory at all facilities
Complete downgrade (damaged products) reports for materials as needed
Coordinate and oversee the daily receiving and shipping at 3PW's and SMI locations
Assist with year-end SARA Title III reporting
Communicates effectively with all levels of management, personnel, and customers
Possesses outstanding customer service skills
Practices the principals of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under the GFSI guidelines
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required: some college-level business-related courses required. Associates degree in Science or Business or relevant work experience in chemical industry preferred
Five or more years' experience working in a warehouse, chemical purchasing or supply-chain environment required
Previous experience (3 or more years’) experience working in inventory planning capacity
Previous experience handling chemical/hazardous materials preferred
Certification in handling chemical hazardous
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong organization and time management
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications-Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Consistent accuracy and thoroughness, monitored by self and leadership
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
