Purpose
The Production Technical Lead employee is responsible for maintaining and meeting all manufacturing and production goals as well as productivity, to obtain complete customer satisfaction through production value, and employee effectiveness.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Performance must reflect an appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below:
General Policy
Perform all duties of a Production Technician within the manufacturing environment.
Support the Shift Leader with the manufacturing and production functions in order to meet the daily department requirements.
Read and follow the Manufacturing Production Schedule.
Direct and assist the production operators with the completion of daily manufacturing goals.
Must be knowledgeable of all manufacturing work procedures and approve daily work orders for accuracy and efficiencies.
Retrieve samples as required following all safety procedures.
Inspect the manufacturing process for effectiveness, accuracy, and proper operation.
Lead production changeover events, ensuring the correct start-up of each portion of the manufacturing lines.
Assist with the department’s training and completion of training records.
Record lot numbers from raw materials when needed.
Shift lead for technical support in manufacturing development and continuous improvement.
Assist and oversee the housekeeping of the production, exterior equipment area, and bale warehouse.
Complete and oversee the material staging for manufacturing as indicated in the documented procedure.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Uphold the Blue Polymers Code of Conduct standards and be aware of the management policy and objectives.
Must be able to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly.
All other duties as assigned by the Production/Plant Manager.
Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED; 1 year or more related experience and/or training; or comparable combination of education and experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experience:
Ability to read and understand documents such as work orders, packaging requests, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals within a manufacturing context.
Ability to write routine correspondence.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
Ability to maintain machinery necessary to perform a specialized task within the manufacturing environment.
Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment typically used in manufacturing processes.
Must be able to work closely with co-workers as a team in a manufacturing setting.
Must be able to accept direction.
Ability to operate a fork truck.
