The selected candidate will be responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, finance, internal auditing, and budgetary controls. The Controller will be a key member of the leadership team.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Direct the financial affairs of the organization and prepare financial analyses of operations, including financial results/statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management.
- Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and financial information, and understand profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
- Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting/IT Departments Recommend training requirements, and ensure staff remain at the highest level of competency and skillset.
- Maintain the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions.
- Coordinate and create various financial budgets and forecasts, institute and maintain internal control procedures, and analyze and report on various financial metrics and variances.
- Prepares various schedules and reports for Corporate Finance and Accounting teams.
- Provide reporting and/or analyses to Corporate Risk Mgt. Dept. for purposes of determining insurance needs.
- Act as liaison between employees and the Corporate Legal team for review of contracts and agreements.
- Complete all credit applications for new suppliers.
- Understand payment terms negotiations; understand supply chain financing.
- Practice the principles of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under the GFSI guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial or Business Administration required.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Excellent computer skills, including strong proficient with Microsoft applications.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organization, leadership, time management.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel, problem solving and analytical skills required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to lead and manage an accounting team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management.
