Product Manager – Off Grade Polypropylene

Summary
The objective of the position is to drive profitable sales growth through responsive and professional interactions with both Sales and Suppliers making sure sound business decisions are made on a transactional level, and executing the Supplier strategy established with the Sourcing Director. Responsibilities include building relationships with key suppliers, supporting Sales and Business Development with portfolio specific market intelligence and collaborating with each to win business, bolstering relationships with strategic clients as the portfolio’s subject matter expert, negotiating supply agreements, providing market intel on supply dynamics and cost movements, and working with Supply Chain to provide support on inventory management, aged inventory remediation and generation of supplier forecasts as appropriate.

Critical Activities
- Serve as primary contact for Sales to obtain cost and supply information for one or more assigned product lines.
- Drive communication to the Sales Team with Supplier product offerings enabling a nimble dialog with prospective customers to close new business.
- Execute portfolio strategies, with the support of Sales Management, which meet both M. Holland Company and Supplier growth goals.
- Establish volume goals in alignment with objectives of the portfolio’s strategic suppliers.
- Monitor and socialize market price trends to ensure market competitiveness.
- Differentiate M. Holland as the preferred Distribution channel for our Supplier partners by meeting supplier growth goals, and developing deep and sustainable relationships.
- Achieve portfolio annual budget goals for both volume and profitability.
- In conjunction with Sales & Business Development, establish a value-driven presence with key customer accounts.
- Work with Supply Chain and Sales to effectively limit / reduce slow moving and obsolete inventory.
- Manage entertainment and travel budget.
- Account Management, Business Development, Market Development, Market and/or Purchasing Management experience; preferably within Distribution or Supplier organizations.
- Ability to achieve goals by influencing and inspiring others through sales and negotiation skills.
- Track record of identifying and presenting innovative and creative solutions.
- Experience in a matrixed commercial organization.
- Willingness to travel up to twice per quarter.
- Preferred experience to include, negotiating supply agreements, price development and maintenance, inventory management, delivered costing analysis, material requirements forecasting, market trend monitoring, management and control of demurrage, track storage costs, and packaging strategies development.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office and ERP technology.
- Undergraduate degree preferred along with a career progression showing increasing responsibility.
- Plastic resin industry experience a plus.
