Purpose

Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on main production lines. Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical and instrumentation equipment and panels in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.

  • Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production lines and equipment.
  • Execute troubleshooting and root cause analysis during corrective maintenance on main production lines and equipment.
  • Maintain production lines’ main components, like conveyors, rollers, gearmotors, chains, pneumatic components, valves and other related electrical, automation and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform overhaul of equipment, components replacement, alignments, and calibration to specifications.
  • Open, update and close assigned Work Orders utilizing CMMS (MPulse).
  • Identify, address, and notify to Maintenance Supervisor or Manager about any maintenance related deviation or requirement from internal customers (i.e.: Production Department, Safety Department, etc.).
  • Maintain communication among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Provide solutions and corrective/preventative actions on problems/troubleshooting.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Commit to OCS Blue & OSHA Safety facility Standard.
  • Any other maintenance related task assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.

The requirements listed below are representative of observable behaviors and essential knowledge, skill, and abilities required of a successful incumbent within our culture.

  • Knowledge and use of basic hand tools, I&E equipment (Multimeter, Meggers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, energy isolation, lockout, JSAs, and line breaking procedures.
  • Ability to work on high voltage and to work near exposed energized electrical lines.
  • Mechanical maintenance knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle to perform duties.
  • Unique ability to work in and contribute to a high performance, team-based work culture.
  • Able to read, write and comprehend English as well as basic math skills.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

  • Education:
    • High School diploma or GED.
  • Systems Experience:
    • Familiar with CMMS systems.
  • Licenses
    • Valid Driver’s license
Required Tools

The employee must own and keep on hand the following tools/equipment: (minimum required)

  • Industrial Multimeter (AC/DC Volt, Amp, Ohm, etc.)
  • Clamp Meter
  • Temperature laser gun (optional but recommended)
  • Voltage detector
  • Basic electrical related work tools like:
    • Side-cutting pliers
    • Diagonal cutting pliers
    • Long nose pliers
    • Wire stripper (10-18 AWG)
    • NM cable ripper
    • Stripping/crimping combination tool
    • Cable cutter
    • Utility knife
    • 12″ hacksaw
    • Flat blade screwdriver (Various size)
    • Phillips screwdriver (Various sizes)
    • Screw holding screwdriver 3/16-Inch by 6-Inch (optional but recommended)
    • Adjustable wrench set
    • Allen wrench set
    • 25-Feet tape measure
    • 18-Ounce Electrician’s hammer
Work Environment / Conditions

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience, and therefore must be adaptable to work in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.

  • This job primarily operates in a warehouse setting buy may need to work outside, so must be able to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
  • May be exposed to operations hazards including dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water, and electrical hazards.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to communicate verbally, listen, read and comprehend information, and type on a consistent and daily basis.
  • Frequently lift up to 55 lbs. and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot and stand for long periods of time. (Will be required to use ladders or stairs).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Requires close visual observation to detect process non-conformance and machine malfunction.
  • A variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day
  • Ability to adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot and stand for long periods of time.
  • Occasional climbing of ladders
  • Use of basic warehouse equipment and hand tools
