Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

- Area of Focus (In order of percentage of time spent on activity, importance and/or priority)
- Coordinate with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, trucking, drayage companies and warehouses on scheduling and tracking the status of shipments by closely monitoring key shipments milestones:
- Empty Container Pickup [Drayage Carriers]
- Container Loading [Warehouses]
- Loaded Container Gate In [Drayage Carriers]
- Request late gates if needed. [Ocean Carriers]
- Actively seek and implement creative solutions for drayage carrier and warehouse mistakes to minimize costs and ensure the shipment is executed timely.
- Keep the system updated with container activity so operational teams have visibility to accurate status information.
- Actively follow-up truckers and warehouses to ensure the logistical movements are competed before cutoffs.
- Actively communicate with the warehouses to obtain the Warehouse Bill of Lading in a timely manner.
- Secondary Area of Focus (In order of percentage of time spent on activity, importance and/or priority)
- Review and approve ocean carrier and drayage carrier invoices for accuracy when discrepancies occur. Document and initiate the claims process when needed.
- Act as a direct contact for internal stakeholders such as the Export Coordination and Export Documentation Teams, keeping them informed of potential delays.
- Enable business continuity by promoting cross training with other members of the team.
- Participate in backup and load balancing process among members of the Transportation Team during periods of high workload, vacation and time off.

- Education:
- A four-year degree is preferred. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
- Experience:
- 1 year minimum logistics experience is required.
- Freight forwarder experience is preferred.
- Licenses / Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license – required
- Language:
- Proficiency in English required
- Bi-Lingual – Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
