What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Process Technician position at Rave Gears?
**NOTE: Starting pay is negotiable and will be based on incoming skillset/experience**
Position available for Special Process Technician. Position will have significant amounts of on-the-job training and requires an applicant who is willing to learn with potential growth opportunities. Daily responsibilities will revolve around assisting with manufacturing/non-destructive testing operations.
This include but not limited too:
- Performing special process operations, such as: Vibratory finishing, shotpeen, balancing, touch-up plated parts, deburring, various Marking methods, etc.
- Assisting with Non-Destructive Testing operations (MPI, LPI, nital temper etch. Previous certifications/experience not required, but highly preferred)
- Assisting with maintenance/calibrations of various special process equipment.
- Upkeeping various documentation required in an aerospace manufacturing environment
Position includes the opportunity to learn and pick up new skills with on-the-job training. Applicants will be working on finishing operations/inspection of precision (tight tolerance) manufactured parts used in various applications including aerospace, defense, racing, and other industries.
Previous job experience in manufacturing is highly preferred; previous experience mentioned above is not required, but will be a significant benefit. Rave Gear is also currently undergoing an expansion, and will be looking to add a NADCAP certified Heat Treat line along with various other additions in a new 20,000 sq. ft. facility. Along with this will come many personal growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- US citizenship/security clearance
- Must be able to withstand occasional physical tasks, including lifting of heavier parts/larger quantity orders.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with various marking methods / finishing operations.
- Familiarity with machining (lathes, mills, grinders, wire EDM)
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing (MPI, LPI, Nital Temper Etch)
- Experience with NADCAP/AS9100/ISO documentation requirements
- Familiarity with gear manufacturing
- Experience with Heat Treatment, Metrology Lab, Copper, and other plating processes.
- Proficiency with computer (Microsoft Office, etc.) highly preferred
- Level II certification in MPI and/or LPI. (Candidates with at least one of these will be highly considered)
Other Job Information:
- Two shifts available, M-F: Day Shift 7AM-3:30PM, Night Shift 3:30PM-12:00AM
