Raven Electric is looking for experienced telecommunications technicians to help service our commercial clients. We are a service-disabled veteran owned business that has been serving Alaska’s industrial, commercial, and residential markers for over 40 years.

Required:
- 10 years experience as a telecommunications technician
- Proficiency with applicable building codes and industry standards
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for the past three years
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install new or modify telecommunications installations consistent with local and national codes. Plan telecommunications installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring.
- Read and properly execute plans, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications for telecommunications wiring including installation of Cat5E, Cat6, single mode and multi-mode fiber optic, and wireless applications while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturers requirements.
- Install telecommunications apparatus, wiring, and equipment for low voltage systems such as alarm, audio & visual, telecom, VOIP, security, etc.
- Inspect, install, and troubleshoot telecommunications components such as switches, wireless access points, NVRs, routers, workstations, cameras, etc.
- Support and install equipment racks, backboards, cabinets, fiber enclosures, shelving, cable tray, ladder rack, j-hooks, etc.
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or replace damaged components in telecommunication systems.
- Conduct competent site surveys of existing conditions, verify cable pathways, verify active network equipment, and assist third parties in troubleshooting and repair of network connected equipment and circuits.
- Prepare and present sketches showing location of wiring and equipment.
- Good knowledge of various test equipment used in the trade.
- Adhere to all Raven Electric company policies and procedures.

- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written with customers, other trades, and company personnel.
- Have a team-oriented mindset that enables you to work harmoniously with other employees and contractors to complete or troubleshoot tasks.
- Supervise and lead a work crew including providing technical direction and on-the-job training to junior team members.
- Able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and be a self-starter.
- Manage and account for all equipment, tools, materials, and other Company property handled, installed, or utilized in the performance of work in an efficient and conscientious manner.
- Ensure adequate inventory of necessary materials and supplies on company vehicle and at the job site.
- Complete all required paperwork in an efficient, effective, and timely manner.
- Maintain work sites and assigned Company vehicle in a manner that is clean and orderly, protecting parts and equipment from damage.
- Demonstrate safe work habits to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards including OSHA and Company safety policies.
- Possess basic computer and mobile app experience.
