What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Transportation position at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk School District?
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (RCS) Central School district is seeking a dynamic and highly organized candidate to serve as its Assistant Director of Transportation. This position assists in the planning and directing of the transportation system of the RCS school district. This is an administrative position involving the responsibility for the safety and efficient operation and maintenance of the RCS transportation department. Other responsibilities will include: Plans, directs and manages the school district transportation system which includes public and private school transportation; Plans, develops and implements an effective bus safety program; Prepares all required New York State Education and Department of Transportation reports; Act as liaison between school administrators and parents concerning transportation problems and issues; other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualified candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications from Albany County Civil Service.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EITHER:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two year college with an Associate's degree and three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment, operation of multiple passenger vehicles or dispatching of motor equipment; OR,
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment, operation of a multiple passenger vehicle or dispatching of motor equipment.
Additional Requirement: Qualified applicants must have (or be willing to obtain) NYDMV 19-A Certified Examiner and NYSED SBDI.
Salary Range: $60,000 - 80,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
