What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Mental Health Intern position at Ravenna City Schools?
Ravenna School District is looking for 2-3 Clinical Mental Health Interns for the 2024-2025 school year to work under the supervision of the District Therapist at the High School, Middle School and Elementary School level. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience as a clinician in an under-utilized setting that allows access to mental health services that are often out of reach for lower income families. The ideal candidate will:
- Be in their Practicum or Internship phase of a CACREP Accredited Masters Program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Have, or be in the process of obtaining, their CT (Counselor Trainee) Licensure from the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with teachers/admin within assigned building as well as community members and families
Strong understanding of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board Code of Ethics
Ability to manage potential crisis situations and/or seek support of supervisor when appropriate
Ability to work 10-20 hours per week dependent on practicum or internship requirements
Ability to independently manage schedule and maintain flexibility for absences from school as well as crisis needs
Duties Include:
Collaborate with school counselors and other identified individuals to manage referral requests
Contact appropriate parents/guardians of identified student referrals to gather intake information and complete treatment plan
Complete appropriate and timely documentation
Complete crisis assessments when needed
