$16.06 per hour
The Ravenna School District has an Educational Aide opening at Brown Middle School.
Hours are 7.5 hours per day (paid for 7 hours with ½ hour unpaid lunch).
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Driver’s License
- Social Security Card
- Clear FBI/BCI background check. You can also obtain a background check at our office,the cost is $47.25.
- Must have/apply for an Educational Aide permit through the Ohio Department of Education. The cost is $25.
- Willing to complete CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Training, which will be provided.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
I. Classroom Related:
1. Maintains respect at all times for confidential information.
2. Works with students individually and in small groups as directed by teacher.
3. Takes charge of classroom for short period of time when teacher is called out of classroom.
4. Checks notebooks, corrects papers, supervises testing and make-up work, collects data for IEP, etc. as assigned by teacher.
5. Assists with supervision of children at recess, restroom breaks, lunch, community training and mainstreamed classes as needed.
6. Prepares materials for class projects, assists in maintaining bulletin boards, duplicates materials for class, and compiles and maintains inventory records.
7. Operates and cares for equipment used in classroom for instructional purposes.
8. Serves as chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assisted in the absence of the regular teacher.
II. Student Related:
1. Assists students with personal care needs which may include, but not limited to:
- assisting students in the catheterization process.
- assisting students in utilization of restroom facilities or diapering.
- assisting students in transferring to and from wheelchair, prone board, walkers and other equipment.
- assisting students in moving to and from classes.
- assisting with feeding of students.
- administering medication per school policy.
- administering first aid to children if necessary.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
2. Becomes an integral part of the instructional team by participating in teach meetings about MH students, providing insight and information regarding student, and implementing team decisions.
3. Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible members of the school community.
4. Demonstrates the ability to organize tasks to completion.
5. Identifies, analyzes and solves problems.
6. Seeks to improve personal and organizational performance by measuring and monitoring outcomes.
7. Is open to change and willing to be involved in the change process.
8. Performs other duties related to the assistant’s duties as assigned by the teacher or
administration.
