Ravenscroft is an independent, coeducational day school in Raleigh, NC, with approximately 1,250 students in grades PreK-12.

Reports to: Head of Lower School
As a Lower School Assistant Teacher at Ravenscroft, here is what you get to do:
- Assist teachers by meeting with students in and out of classrooms in small groups and one-on-one settings
- Assist classroom teachers with daily whole group instruction
- Attend grade level PLC meetings to help plan for instruction with teachers
- Assist classroom teachers with clerical tasks such as copying, laminating, filing, and preparing classroom materials
- Assist classroom teachers with planning, organizing, and supervising Big Centers (PreK/K only)
- Provide supervision, as needed, during recess, lunch, rest time, and carpool
- Support and help manage grade level projects and special events
- Monitor and support the morning arrival and afternoon dismissal process for students and parents
- Assist with divisional clerical duties including coverage of the Front Office if/when needed
- Attend full faculty/staff meetings and Lower School division meetings
- Perform other duties as requested by Team Leader and the Head of the Lower School that would enhance the overall experience for students, parents, and teachers
Qualifications:
- Four year degree required; background in education or related fields
- Science of Reading related professional development is a plus
- Excellent communication skills; tact in dealing with adults and children in a school setting
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting
- Flexible, collaborative team player
- Ability to exercise good judgment and comply with school standards
- Physical requirements of the position must be met
