Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

Position Summary
The Architecture and Engineering Analyst will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) program, providing support to other Units and Offices within the VA to ensure the success of the program's mission. The performance of the Architecture and Engineering Analyst position is key to RavenTek’s performance on the EHRM contract, and therefore RavenTek’s mission to support the VA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support new and existing initiatives and recommend new processes for developing and documenting value metrics, including identification of data sources, baseline measurements, fiscal year targets, performance thresholds, metric measurement methods, and analytic tools.
- Liaise between internal and external business, technical, and governance stakeholder groups to ensure understanding and communication of business needs, desired outcomes, technical requirements, and performance constraints.
- Conduct value assessments that analyze programs, functional areas, and organizations to determine whether the management systems currently being utilized are efficiently accomplishing the objectives sought and whether they provide controls necessary for sound management.
- Examine the functionality, purpose, and integration of existing and planned software applications to determine and document the business, data, application, and technology principles necessary for compliance with Federal and VA policies.
- Provide Clinical Informatics subject matter expertise to support the translation of functional requirements to technical implementation requirements, architecture, terminology mapping, prototyping, and testing with the business customers and technical teams for implementation.
- Attend meetings and workshops to present on project work and participate in discussions.
- Provide Monthly Status Report (MSR) to the RavenTek Program Manager by the deadline provided.
- Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
- Monitor and respond to RavenTek email a minimum of 3 times per week.
- Complete required compliance trainings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills
- Possesses knowledge of appropriate data sources to address the specific requirements of projects for monitoring, characterization, analysis, and modeling.
- Ability to present project work and participate in discussions in meetings and workshops.
- Ability to supervise projects; and create new approaches and solutions.
- Responsible and reliable in managing day-to-day tasks? independently.
- Ability to work in a team environment in a positive manner.
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work both independently and under supervision.
- A firm understanding of data warehouse and database concepts is preferred.
Education & Work Experience
- 4 years of professional work experience.
- PhD in healthcare, science, engineering, or related scientific, technical, or clinical discipline.
- 12 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Experience in performing scientific research, scientific writing, and editing, including the writing and editing of project products to established government standards for the targeted science and lay audiences, proofreading of draft and final documents.
- Experience in the VA is preferred.
- Experience implementing Electronic Health Records is preferred.

Work Environment
Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
Physical Demands
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
