Architect Robin Nelson is renowned for his lush Hawaiian layouts but added this New York gem to his many masterpieces in 2002. The course has a gently undulating terrain and holes that flow seamlessly from one to the next. Standout holes include the beautifully bunkered par-5 18th and the par 3’s on the back nine strategically guarded by water.
Ravenwood has hosted the 2003 and 2009 New York State Golf Championships, as well as the 2004 U.S. Open Qualifier.
Job Description:
Ravenwood Golf Club is looking for an experienced and service-oriented Lead Server to oversee front-of-house operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences. With a cozy indoor space and a large outdoor patio, we need a leader who can effectively manage high-volume service, coordinate with the team, and maintain smooth operations across all dining areas. This role requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and support the server team to deliver outstanding service in both indoor and outdoor dining areas.
- Train and mentor new servers, ensuring consistency in service and adherence to restaurant standards.
- Oversee table assignments, guest flow, and overall floor management to optimize efficiency.
- Assist in handling customer inquiries, special requests, and resolving any service issues promptly.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and restock server stations, ensuring all supplies are available for smooth operations.
- Set up POS buttons and update menus
- Lead by example in providing excellent service, upselling menu items, and creating a positive guest experience.
- Create and obtain opening and closing duties, as well as daily reports when needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of serving experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and coordinate service across a large patio and indoor space.
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail pairing.
- Experience with POS systems and handling cash/card transactions.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Ravenwood Golf Club, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
