What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cherry Picker/Forklift Operator position at Ravi's Import Warehouse?
The Order Picker is responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the delivery platform in a manner that meets company standards. The Order Picker is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled. Order Picker efficiently picks customer’s orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is picker ready to loaded and shipped. Picker ensures outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
- Operate cherry pickers, forklifts and pallet jacks as required in a manner supporting all safety rules and procedures in order to full fill duties.
- Conduct physical inventories as required
- Be reliable and have a problem-solving and reasoning skill
- Carry out tasks as assigned by the warehouse supervisor/manager
- Comply with all safety rules and policies
- Have a positive customer service oriented attitude
- Have good organizational skills and communications skills
- Must be able to carry or transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment Inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment.
- Ensure that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Repack and weigh any orders that require such handling.
- Conduct physical inventories as required
- Meet company standards for productivity
Requirements:
- Must trained in safety with the ability to work around moving machinery;
- Must be able to operate a power jack
- Reading, writing and problem-solving skills
- One to Two years of work experience.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Must be able to read orders and select product accordingly
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking and climbing steps on a frequent basis while carrying merchandise.
- Two handed lifting, pushing, handling, and carrying boxes on a frequent basis
- Sustained squatting, kneeling, stooping and bending while moving boxes and/or carrying up to 70 lbs.
- Two handed pushing, pulling and lifting of loaded and unloaded carts.
- Walking and standing for long periods are required to perform other physical activities such as moving pallets, reaching, bending or climbing
Considerations
- Any experience regarding Candys, Beverages, Automotive, Lighters, Medicines, and other types of convenience merchandise is a plus.
- A self-starter, independent worker, and accountable personality is a major plus.'
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
