Horsemanship Instructor
Located in beautiful North San Diego County in sunny Southern California, Rawhide Ranch is a one of a kind ranch camp for kids. It is a high energy, completely unique, year-round youth camp program for kids ages 7-15. We have 50 horses and nearly 100 livestock animals that nearly 150 kids ride and work with everyday. Our cabins are covered wagons, a cavalry fort, tee pees and an old schoolhouse. The camp itself is an old west town. Room and Board could be included for the right person. $17-$19 per hour based on experience. This position is Wednesday- Sunday
We need to hire a full-time, year-round, lead riding instructor to lead our horsemanship classes, oversee the lessons horses and organize and train new staff. This position requires:
· Teaching beginning horse science and riding to campers aged 7-15.
· Organize and provide care for the horses including feeding, watering, and cleaning pens.
· Provide supervision to our campers in doing basic ranch chores (feeding, watering, cleaning pens, etc.)
· Provide first aid and basic veterinary care to any animal that needs it.
A Rawhide Ranch Horsemanship instructor will:
· Have a heart to reach, teach and serve children
· Have experience working with horses.
· Love the outdoors and animals and having fun!
· Possess a positive and exemplary attitude. Thrive in a face paced, outdoors enviroment.
· Have experience creating lessons plans and giving beginner- intermediate lessons to children.
· Organized, proactive and a great communicator.
· Have the proven ability to work and thrive in a team environment
· Able to take directions well and learn humbly and quickly
