Job Purpose:
Your work as an Occupational Therapist will focus on facilitating the development, recovery, and rehabilitation of our clients by using a trauma-informed model of care. You’ll guide youth in developing adaptive skills for daily living, while also helping them regulate their emotions and engage socially, all within a structured and nurturing campus environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Client Development and Treatment: Provide occupational therapy services tailored to each youth’s needs, focusing on improving personal hygiene, independent living, social skills, and emotion regulation.
• Therapy Modalities: Use sensory assessments and creative therapeutic tools like equine-assisted therapy to help youth overcome challenges and develop independence.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with a dedicated team of therapists, educators, and case managers to create individualized treatment plans and ensure comprehensive care for each client.
• Group and Individual Therapy: Lead group sessions and one-on-one therapy to teach important life skills, promote self-regulation, and support each youth’s overall well-being.
• Post-Discharge Planning: Develop home-based therapy plans and recommend follow-up care to ensure the continuation of therapeutic progress after discharge.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Wisconsin as an Occupational Therapist (OT/L or OTR/L).
• Strong experience addressing the cognitive, sensory, and volitional needs of clients, particularly with children and youth.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment.
• Familiarity with designing and integrating sensory diets and experience with therapeutic tools, including equine-assisted therapy.

Working Conditions:
This position is based on our New London campus and involves working directly with youth in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will need to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds during treatment sessions. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is essential to ensuring the safety of clients and staff.
