What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Clerk: Full-time, 9a-5p, Days off vary position at Ray County Memorial Hospital?
Abilities/Skills needed: Basic computer skills, effective communication skills, multi-tasking, maintain confidentiality, proficient in math and reconciliation, ability to use office equipment, able to work independently with no oversight, ability to multitask, able to work weekend and holiday shifts, able to work 12 hour shifts when needed, able to work night shifts when needed
Job Duties:
- Register patients, conduct investigations with patient HIPAA standards, verify demographics and insurance information.
- Obtain and verify insurance cards and photo ID
- Runs eligibility for every patient at time of check in.
- Presents patient with necessary paperwork and policies at time of check in.
- Helps to cover Switchboard and ER admissions as needed.
- Takes weekend call one weekend a month from Friday evening to Monday morning.
Previous experience preferred.
