We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials outside in the yard area. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and lift trucks safely and efficiently to transport materials outside in the yard.
- Perform order picking tasks, ensuring accuracy in selecting products for shipment.
- Handle materials with care, following proper procedures for loading and unloading goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to OSHA safety standards at all times.
- Utilize the warehouse management system to track inventory levels and assist with stock management.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and meet distribution goals.
Experience
- Proven experience in forklift operation, preferably within a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and best practices.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation, including Hi-Lo forklifts, is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of equipment repair and maintenance procedures is beneficial.
