Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation and safety of facilities and equipment. This role involves addressing routine maintenance issues, responding to repair requests, and executing preventative maintenance schedules. The Maintenance Worker reports to the Branch Manager and collaborates with other team members to maintain a clean, safe, and functional environment.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Handle waste disposal and recycling efforts efficiently.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and polishing to ensure surfaces are well-maintained.
- Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks as needed.
- Monitor cleaning supplies inventory and report when reordering is necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while performing custodial duties.
- Respond promptly to any spills or accidents to maintain a safe environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning, custodial work, or industrial cleaning environments.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with staff and visitors.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that require standing, lifting, and moving throughout the day.
