About the Role :
We are hiring a Civil Design Engineer to support our direct client in designing infrastructure projects using advanced CAD and BIM software. This role is ideal for skilled civil engineers with expertise in site planning, grading, drainage, roadways, and utilities. The Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed engineering plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with project teams to optimize design efficiency and constructability.
Key Responsibilities : Design & Drafting :
Develop detailed engineering designs and drawings for civil infrastructure projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM software .
Prepare site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management designs, and utility plans .
Optimize earthwork, drainage, and roadway designs to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for stormwater and flood management systems.
Project Coordination & Compliance :
Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, zoning laws, and environmental codes .
Work closely with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and environmental specialists to integrate project requirements.
Assist in permit applications and regulatory documentation for project approval.
Review and revise designs based on client feedback, regulatory changes, and construction feasibility .
Technical Analysis & Reporting :
Perform engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to support design decisions.
Conduct material quantity take-offs and cost estimations for project budgeting.
Generate technical reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.
Utilize GIS mapping and geospatial data to support site planning and environmental impact assessments.
Collaboration & Remote Support :
Work closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to align design intent with project goals.
Provide remote troubleshooting and design modifications during the construction phase.
Stay updated on emerging design technologies, software updates, and industry best practices .
Key Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
5 years of experience in civil design, infrastructure planning, or site development.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM, and GIS software .
Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater management, and transportation engineering .
Familiarity with permitting processes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations .
Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
