The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing laboratory equipment in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent technical and organizational skills to ensure compliance with industry regulations and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and upload service reports (CM, PM, Cal, Qual) into the CMMS work order system.
- Ensure completion of Field Service Reports and follow-up actions in CMMS.
- Maintain accurate asset status labeling (e.g., calibration labels).
- Perform physical inventory of equipment and instruments.
- Escort and oversee third-party vendors to ensure compliance with facility policies and work standards.
- Enforce PPE policies for vendors (Lab Coat, Safety Glasses, Gloves).
- Troubleshoot equipment for up to 30 minutes to determine repairability on-site.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and calibration services when applicable.
- Manage work orders for on-site instrument repairs for all trained/certified equipment.
- Create and track work requests in multiple CMMS systems.
- Assist in the installation and decommissioning of equipment.
- Tag equipment as "Out of Service" if calibration cannot restore tolerance levels.
- Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Sciences or Engineering).
- 5 years of experience in laboratory equipment/instrumentation maintenance within a regulated industry.
- Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for laboratory instruments.
- Knowledge of GMP, GDP, and ISO standards.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with experience in customer service.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift and move up to 35 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
- Exposure to mechanical parts, humidity, odors, and risk of electrical shock.
- Work environment may include moderate to loud noise levels and occasional high elevations.
