Key Responsibilities
- Review various types of tax returns, resolving relevant issues, exploring planning opportunities, and ensuring they are complete and ready for final review.
- Provide tax research and consulting services to address tax return issues and client-specific needs while identifying planning opportunities.
- Manage engagements, including planning and supervising the tax return preparation process and coordinating tax consulting projects.
- Identify tax planning and consulting opportunities, working in collaboration with clients' advisors.
- Take on certain administrative responsibilities to assist with the overall management of the firm.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and their advisors.
- Proactively communicate with staff to monitor project statuses and provide assistance.
- Mentor and train staff, acting as a team leader.
- Support practice development by identifying opportunities to cross-sell services to existing clients and attract new clients.
- CPA or EA certification required, with 5 years of progressive experience in a CPA firm.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
- Knowledge of international tax laws for S-Corps, C-Corps, Partnerships, and Individuals, including foreign informational reporting requirements, is a plus.
- Experience with estates, trusts, multi-state, and consolidated returns.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in reviewing tax work prepared by staff and providing constructive feedback.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively for self and others while training and mentoring staff.
- Experience with UltraTax CS, CCH ProSystems, QuickBooks, and Practice CS is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Competitive salary range: $120,000–$150,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
