Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, particularly in land development projects. You will be responsible for leading and managing land development engineering projects, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards and meet client expectations.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in land development and design projects.
- Experience in designing, preparing, and processing land development applications in Northern Virginia jurisdictions is highly preferred.
- Proven experience with Residential, Commercial, and Mixed-Use Land Development Projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering concepts and locality requirements to make informed design decisions.
- Ability to contribute to the preparation of full sets of construction plans.
- Technical expertise in civil engineering design, including site grading, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate design updates.
- A customer-focused mindset committed to delivering excellence in all work products.
- Creation of CAD drawings and details for site and subdivision plans.
- Site layout and utility design.
- Horizontal and vertical design of roadways.
- Preparation of erosion and sediment control plans.
- Generating hydrologic computations for stormwater management facilities.
- Performing pavement design computations.
- Performing site distance analysis.
- Preparing site work quantity take-offs.
- Coordination with internal and external engineers, architects, county reviewers, etc.
