What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Survey CAD Designer position at Raya Workforce?
About the Role:
We are hiring for our direct client, a reputable firm specializing in land surveying, civil engineering, and right-of-way services. The Land Survey CAD Designer will be responsible for producing accurate and high-quality plan sets, land plats, preliminary property line calculations, and title and encumbrance reports to support the design staff.
- Complete drafting for finished right-of-way products, adhering to company and INDOT CAD Standards.
- Create Location Control Route Survey Plats (LCRSP) for review by Surveyors and coordinate the recording of certified plats.
- Plot property lines from deeds as required.
- Develop accurate right-of-way drawings, including plans, parcel plats, and LCRSPs, using minimal supervision.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to incorporate and annotate Civil 3D design elements into right-of-way drawings.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of right-of-way drawings.
- Research land records for conveyance documents and encumbrances on properties adjoining project corridors.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and adherence to company values at all times.
- Associate degree in Land Surveying Drafting/Technology or a similar program, or 2-5 years experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, along with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong understanding of chain of title issues and land record research.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers or clients.
- Primarily indoor office setting, with extended periods of sitting.
- Occasional outdoor work assignments may require some physical exertion.
- Rare out-of-town travel and overnight stays may be required.
