General Summary
Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative, Inc’s (Rayburn) buildings and facilities, to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for employees and guests. Works independently with diligent attention to detail, using judgment and initiative to address responsibilities.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities / Knowledge
• Maintains cleanliness of Rayburn’s facilities, including offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Performs daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Establishes and maintains a regular cleaning schedule.
• Ensures cleaning equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
• Uses independent judgment and personal initiative to perform tasks.
• Empties trash and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal and replacement of liners.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms, replenishes supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels), and ensures facilities are in good working order.
• Maintains and operates various cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, etc.
• Ensures office and facilities supplies are at a level that will allow the office operations to run at optimal levels.
• Monitors and maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Reports any unsafe conditions or needed maintenance repairs to supervisor.
• Keeps storage areas organized and clutter-free.
• Subject to on call outside of established work schedule as business needs dictate.
Key Accountabilities
• Complies with all policies, procedures and confidentiality agreements effective as a result of employment with Rayburn.
• Shares information with Rayburn management and staff, contractors, and other third parties in a timely manner, as required.
• Delegates jobs and tasks to appropriate employees, providing complete information and resources to properly complete such jobs and tasks.
• Provides Rayburn management with updates and/or reports on work and tasks as requested or required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive management.
Job Specifications / Skills Required
Education:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
Experience:
Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred
Skills:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment to ensure safe usage of general cleaning chemicals.
· Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Aptitude for effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks
· Able to work effectively in a team environment; willing to assist others
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Physical Demands
· Ability to bend, reach, stoop, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
· Ability to perform repetitive motions in order to use cleaning equipment.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
