Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for performing research, development, design, and testing of product. Design work is monitored and reviewed by a senior level engineer.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from the customer and develop design solutions
- Complete sustaining engineering tasks to support production products
- Complete 3D design of parts and assemblies, and create 2D part and assembly drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Participates as a drawing checker to ensure items are detailed correctly
- Participates in engineering review meetings
- Communicates with suppliers/vendors as required
- Builds and analyzes prototypes
- Conduct laboratory testing of products to ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; 2-5 years’ experience a plus
- Proficiency in using solid modeling CAD software (experience with SolidWorks a plus)
- Proficient with MS office Products
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast paced, high volume production environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
