Position Summary:

Network

This role maintains the networks and systems that keep our organization running efficiently. Deep technological expertise with a wide range of computer systems, hardware, and software is essential for this role to succeed and drive the organization forward.

The Network Engineer is a results-oriented position with day-to-day hands-on experience with all levels of access: application, interface, network, and data. This position needs extensive design and implementation experience with systems and putting them in place. The position needs to have a strong sense of network operation processes; quickly determine when things have gone past normal parameters, and then provide the appropriate action plan, including designing appropriate response controls.

Essential Duties:

Network

• Assist in network design, implementation, and maintenance
• Provide network support across organizational operating systems
• Maintain stable and consistent connectivity across all network computers
• Prepare, implement, and monitor disaster procedures and recovery
• Maintain network servers and associated hardware, software, services, and settings
• Consistently monitor and troubleshoot network stability and performance
• Create, adjust, and maintain network user settings and permissions
• Troubleshoot, resolve and communicate network issues to other employees and management
• Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities
• Create and maintain network diagrams and documentation
• Oversee security product and vendor assessments and evaluations, make recommendations, and coordinate product implementations.

Qualifications:

Education/Licensure/Certifications/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
• Three to five years of demonstrated experience providing network design, support, and maintenance of associated systems infrastructure.
• Or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.
• Professional certification, such as CCNA, or CCNP

Knowledge and Skills:

• Comprehensive knowledge of networking concepts and computing infrastructure.
• Proven skills in network engineering, operations, and performance analysis.
• Experience with server management and monitoring tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and forward.
• Experience with firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Experience working with O365 and Intune environment preferred.
• Network migration experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Python, C , Java, Ruby, and/or Power Shell.
• Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
• Technical proficiency in system design, database structure, and network best practices.
• Proven documentation designer and implementer for policies, processes, and guidelines.
• Strong Understanding of best practices and security principles within the industry.
• Project management and cross-team leadership experience.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
