POSITION SUMMARY: The Deli Shift Leader is primarily responsible for monitoring the daily operations of the deli department to ensure all company policies, standards and guidelines are followed. Prepares weekly team schedules and trains employees. Maintains store deli appearance and product presentation to company standards. Manage food inventory and order as needed and maintain menu as appropriate. Helps model and set the tone for interaction with the customers and employees. Understands how that influences the public perception of ROC.
Requirements
Knowledge and Education
- High school graduation or equivalent, preferred.
- ServSafe Certification, preferred, or willing to become certified.
- Knowledge of retail management and people management, a plus.
- Some knowledge of store operations, required – merchandising, inventory control, food preparation.
Experience
- One year experience in retail management, C-store clerk, restaurant or deli store position.
- Demonstrated team leadership or influence.
Skills and Abilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Good people and customer interaction skills.
- Skills in areas of leadership, teaching, and motivating employees.
- Demonstrated attentiveness to details; mathematical analytical ability. Use of calculator.
- Good computer skills, e.g. point of sale system.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems – operational, customer, and employee.
- Ability to work independently in a high pressure and demanding environment.
- Ability to multi-task, i.e., pick-up where left off when interrupted.
