MIDDLE SCHOOL BASEBALLL HEAD COACH
The Athletics Department is seeking a Middle School Baseball Head Coach. This is a part-time, seasonal position under the direction of the Athletic Director.
The Head Coach is responsible for building an inclusive and positive team culture, teaching fundamental and advanced skills, preparing the team for interscholastic competition, and professionally communicating with players, families, and colleagues.
This position reports to the Athletic Director and Middle School Principal, and will support the enforcement of school and state policy, NFHS and NHIAA rules regarding athletics, and the principles of good sportsmanship, the student-athlete model of success, and positive coaching practices.
TITLE: Interscholastic Athletics - Coach
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics EVALUATION: Director of Athletics - following each season
SUPERVISES: Assistant Coaches

Qualifications (skills/Experience/Training Required)
- Coaching certification or ability to obtain certification (upon request).
- Successful prior coaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the rules, strategies, and techniques of the specific sport.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities.
- Player development: Provide quality coaching, emphasizing skill development, strategy, and overall athletic performance. Conduct regular practice sessions to enhance individual and team skills. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline.
- Game Preparation: Develop and implement effective game strategies. Analyze opponents and adapt coaching techniques accordingly. Ensure players are mentally and physically prepared for competitions.
- Player Evaluation: Assess and evaluate the performance of individual players during practices and games. Provide constructive feedback to players for improvement.
- Team Management: Organize and supervise team activities, including practices, games, and team events. Collaborate with assistant coaches to ensure a coordinated and cohesive coaching approach.
- Athlete Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes, promoting academic success, character development, and responsible behavior.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant school, district, and league policies. Prioritize the safety and wellbeing of student-athletes during all team activities.
- Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with parents, school administration, and the local community. Represent the school and athletic program at relevant meetings and events.
- Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice sessions and competitions.
- Bus travel with athletes required for away games and tournaments.
- Ensure and maintain accurate records for athletes.
- Ensure and maintain all equipment and facilities are safe for athletic competition.
