Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking an experienced, innovative, and results-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our team on April 1, 2025 ! Our ideal candidate is committed to ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective transportation of students. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a K-12 school district or similar educational setting, experience in school transportation, and experience in budget management. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
Key Responsibilities :
- Act as the primary liaison between the district and the contracted transportation provider, ensuring services are delivered effectively and in compliance with the contract.
- Answer questions via phone and email from administrators, parents, and patrons for the purpose of addressing student transportation issues.
- Display an ability to handle high volume email and telephone contacts with administrators, parents, and patrons for the purpose of attending to questions and issues in a timely manner.
- Assist building principals in the analysis and solution of transportation ridership issues (e.g. incidents, complaints, building transportation processes, etc.) for the purpose of reaching and / or recommending a resolution.
- Monitor bus routes, schedules, and services to ensure they meet the needs of the district and comply with state and federal regulations.
- Investigate and resolve complaints or issues related to student transportation, including bus behavior incidents or service disruptions.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for transportation safety, including emergency evacuation drills and driver training programs in collaboration with the contracted provider.
- Review and recommend updates to transportation contracts as needed, ensuring alignment with district priorities and budgetary constraints.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for the Superintendent, School Board, or other stakeholders regarding transportation matters.
- Act as a resource for parents, staff, and students regarding transportation policies and procedures.
- Develop and deliver training for staff and administrators on transportation topics and student conduct.
- Communicate effectively with the community, school leaders, and external agencies regarding transportation updates.
- Develop and manage budgets for transportation ensuring effective use of district resources.
