Behavioural Health Assistant

Job Summary

Join our team at RAYRAC HEALTHCARE SERVICES LLC as a Behavioural Health Assistant (BHA) to work directly with clients in their homes, providing essential mental health support. The ideal candidate will have between 3-5 years of experience as a Behavioral Health Assistant and demonstrate a strong background in mental health care.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor clients’ behavior, emotional responses, and progress in their care plan, reporting detailed observations to supervising mental health professionals.
• Assist in the implementation of individualized care and treatment plans developed by the care team.
• Provide therapeutic support through activities and interventions aimed at enhancing clients’ emotional and mental health.
• Support clients in managing their day-to-day tasks to foster independence, including medication reminders and coordination of health appointments.
• Use crisis intervention techniques to manage any challenging situations or episodes of behavioral escalation.
• Document client interactions, progress, and any changes in behavior in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, caregivers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care and community integration.

• Monday-Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Wednesday-Friday: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  
  

Requirements

• Experience: 3-5 years working as a Behavioral Health Assistant, with direct experience in mental health care.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of behavioral health practices, crisis intervention, and therapeutic techniques.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications will be important.
• Specialized Experience: Experience in medical-surgical, surgery, and behavioral health settings.
• Skills:
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for effective interactions with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively in a team and provide patient-centered care.
• Compassionate and patient-focused, with the ability to manage stressful situations and complex client needs.
• Education: High school diploma required; coursework or certification in behavioral health or mental health preferred.
• Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings if needed.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in home care settings.
• Certification in Mental Health First Aid or other relevant training.
• Experience working with diverse client populations including adults, seniors, or those with special needs.
