CarePro Health Services—Cedar Rapids has an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Home Infusion Intake Specialist to join our team!
In this role, you will be responsible for patient intake and customer service including the accurate and timely verification of insurance benefits for new and existing Home Infusion patients. You will also assist with the coordination of the Enteral Nutrition Program.
This position is scheduled for full-time Monday thru Friday, with rotating shifts 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Our ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills and provide outstanding customer service.

What You’ll Do:
- Functions as contact for new Home Infusion referrals
- Verifies insurance benefits for new and existing patients
- Documents patient demographics and insurance eligibility information into medical software
- Obtains prior authorizations and/or referral forms for treatment in order to ensure payment for services rendered
- Assists with collection efforts such as contacting insurance providers regarding unpaid claims
- Maintains appropriate files and records in order to effectively monitor status of all correspondence/communication related to billing such as physician orders, summaries of medical need, and insurance documentation
- Communicates effectively with team, nursing staff and pharmacists regarding patient reimbursement status
- Provides necessary documentation to case managers or other payor representatives regarding patient status
- Participates in the evaluation and decisions regarding utilization of new products
- Maintains database of patient instructions, booklets, and forms
- Assists with the coordination of the Enteral Nutrition Program, which includes monitoring all enteral patients and ensuring all enteral patients are provided with formula/supplies in a timely manner
What we’re looking for:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- One (1) or more years’ experience and/or training in a healthcare setting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience with third-party insurance benefits and insurance authorization including Medicare and Medicaid
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and the internet required
- Exceptional communication skills
- Detail oriented and able to prioritize work
- Demonstrates initiative and teamwork while providing excellent customer service and maintaining professionalism
