Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting functions related to contracts, financial reporting, and compliance with defense industry regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

Responsibilities to Anticipate
- Oversee general accounting functions, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
- Ensure compliance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements and other regulatory standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP and government accounting requirements.
- Manage cost accounting for the Company’s contracts, including indirect rate development and cost allocation.
- Assist in audits conducted by internal, external, and government agencies.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
- Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities with in-depth analysis of actual results.
- Collaborate with peers, program managers and leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate and mentor accounting staff, ensuring professional development and efficient performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in the defense or government contracting industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and CAS.
- Experience with DCAA compliance and audits.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of defense contracts.
