Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to insure effective operation, safety, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.
Job Summary:
Life Cycle Engineering’s Strategic Missile Defense – Radars (SMD-R) has an immediate need for a Strategic Sensor Systems – Strategic Operations Manager based at our Woburn, MA facility.
In this highly visible role you’ll be involved in the roll-out of a major new product, including building in obsolescence mitigation strategies. Your responsibilities will include working with multiple levels of Program and Engineering leadership in creating consensus for and implementing strategies around build limitations and risks.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
In this highly visible role you’re responsible for reviewing obsolescence issues requiring leadership awareness as well as for providing potential mitigation solutions for review and discussion.
This role is posted as Hybrid, with work done both onsite and remotely. The incumbent is responsible for commuting costs to and from the Woburn, MA office location.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant experience. OR an Associate’s degree and 12 years of related experience OR an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience OR in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
- Engineering experience
- Experience with parts or components obsolescence
- An active and in-scope Secret US Security Clearance
Qualifications We Value:
- Experience in developing obsolescence mitigation options
- Background in component engineering, including guiding component selection
- Experience with a wide application of technical theories and concepts related to system logistics/sustainment/production activities/obsolescence
- Experience reading engineering drawings
- Working knowledge of, or experience with configuration management processes as part of the product life cycle
- Experience with product and procurement management systems such as: PTC Windchill (PDM) and SAP PRISM
- Experience managing cost and schedule or associated reporting
- Experience in development of technical and cost proposals.
- Experience with program and project tasks, including managing cost and schedule as well as associated reporting.
- Experience with ‘data mining’ solutions such as SiliconExpert and IHS CAPS Universe.
- Experience interfacing with manufacturers and suppliers
- Qualified 6Sigma specialist
- Experience in preparing customer and/or management level briefings.
- Proven multi-disciplinary leadership and technical skills to engage personnel across stakeholder teams.
- Proficient with the MS Office suite; specific experience with data using Excel and Access.
