Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Preconstruction Manager to lead our preconstruction department. The Preconstruction Manager plays a crucial role in the early stages of a construction project overseeing all activities before construction begins. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that projects are well-planned, cost-effective, and set up for success before construction starts. This position will ensure smooth coordination and decision-making throughout the preconstruction phase.
Preconstruction Manager Responsibilities:
- Review of all proposals prior to being submitted.
- Work with proposal coordinator to review and plan for submission.
- Work with preconstruction team on required presentations.
- Coordinate and attend all prebid meetings.
- Regular meetings with preconstruction team which will include estimating department, proposal coordinator, and other preconstruction team members.
- Report to upper management regularly as to the status of open bids and proposals.
- Assist in creating project schedules.
- Attend and coordinate prebid meetings.
- Estimating projects when assigned.
- Review of all bids prior to being submitted.
- Review all plans being bid.
- Will be required to have reviewed all plans and spec books being bid on.
- Communicate with subcontractors in procuring subcontractor proposals.
Preconstruction Manager Requirements:
- 7-10 years of estimating experience.
- 5 years of creating proposal packages including creation, writing, and estimation aspects.
- Must have worked with general contractor firm on construction management firm of at least $100 mil in revenue.
- Must have experience with various types of contracting including CMAR, GMP, CSP, and Lump Sum.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, Prezi, Canva, Adobe, Procore, Primavera
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
